What's happening...

Its time to let the cat out of the bag / errr.. basket...



I know I have been a bit short in the review department lately and for that I apologize. But I have a good reason.
-
I will be burning the candle at three ends in a few weeks as I begin filming my new television series for the Food Network.
-
I am getting to live a dream and travel the country doing the same thing I do right here in rave! I will be filming the show all over the country this summer (on my weekends and during vacation from the police department) and hope to find some great hole-in-the-walls to show everyone out there in TV land.
-
So wish me luck and stay tuned. The show is scheduled to start airing in October.
-
Speaking of the Food Network, check out Alton Brown's four-part series about eating across America, called "Feasting on Asphalt."

I had the pleasure of filming with him around the South Bay for a day and you will get to see many of the places I have written about in the Culinary Detective column.

I went to the Iron Chef filming (on the 'Food TV Network) and will be publishing a full report soon.
Stand By - as the show is going to be awesome! Check out this picture of me in "Kitchen Stadium".

What is the Iron Chef? - Well...
The coolest of the cool has got to be Iron Chef. It's like a masterchef cook- off done with a WWF flair, and an MC who dresses like Liberace, but can get away with it. All of the voices but one are dubbed in English, with Chairman Kaga's (the just mentioned MC) voice left as-is, with sub-titles. The ingredients are mostly exotic to the American pallet, and costly beyond belief. But it just has to be watched to be believed: however, be forewarned - it's way addicting!!!
